IV International Nanotechnology Forum RUSNANOTECH 2011

IV International Nanotechnology Forum has been completed. Within three days of the Forum, almost 6,5 thousand people took part in this event.

On October 26, the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev took part at the Forum plenary session, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Sergey Ivanov, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Rosnano”- Anatoly Chubais, the President of the Foundation “Scolcovo” - Victor Vekselberg, the President of the United Aircraft Corporation - Mikchail Pogosyan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Russian conglomerate company “Systema” - Vladimir Evtushenko, the partner of Sequoia Capital Douglas Leone (USA) and Founding President of the Institute of Science and Technology in Scolkovo - Edward F.Crawley (USA) also took part in this event.

Plenary session of the Forum was closed with the presentation of the famous scientist and nanotechnology popularizer - Eric Dreksler.

On the first day, as a part of the Forum work, there was a session of the Commission on Economy Modernization and Technological Development. More than 10 agreements, aimed at the realization of joint nanotechnology projects, innovation infrastructure development and high-tech production demand stimulation, were successfully signed.

Also, presentations of several perspective projects were held on the Forum’s area. Visitors could learn a new retail-format (created by ROSNANO featuring X5 Retail Group N.V. and JSC “Sitronics”) – The Store of the Future. Its distinguishing feature - is the use of Radio Frequency Identification tags and data remote reading. Moreover, the model of “Nano House”, built by using nanotechnology of the Project Companies of ROSNANO was demonstrated to all visitors and participants of the Forum.

Visitors and participants of ROSNANOTECH 2011 were able to learn the first prototype of Russian electric transport, created by project company of ROSNANO - “Liotech” Ltd.

At the second time, a special Youth Program for schoolchildren and students was organized as a part of IV International Forum on nanotechnologies. It included lectures, popular chemical experiments and excursions. The exhibition “Look – it’s Nano” became one of the central events of the Youth Program. Almost 1000 of schoolchildren and 450 students took part in this event.

At the fourth time, FSBI TISNCM participated in the exhibition Rusnonotech 2011 and Nanotechnology Forum. Single-crystal diamond product samples and nano-hardness testers “NanoScan-3D” and “Nano scan-Mini” were presented on the TISNCM's exhibition booth. Also Nanoscan testers were presented on the exhibition booths of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and Government Corporation ROSATOM.
